Sciences Po, Campus de Reims – section FLE

Language learning constitutes an essential part of the academic curriculum at Sciences Po. A total of 24 languages are taught on our 7 campuses.  The following 8 languages are offered as part of the Reims campus programs: German, English, Arabic, Spanish, French (as a second language, FLE), Italian, Portuguese and Swahili.  One of the principle academic ambitions of the Reims campus programs is language proficiency in both English and French which are meant to serve as the bedrock of the students linguistic and cultural exposure.

Study of FLE on the Reims Campus regroups students by level in classes which will privilege active learning and an integrated intercultural perspective.  Classes are tailored to the disciplinary needs of Sciences Po and will focus on the social sciences.

With 47% of the student body being international students, Sciences Po ascribes great importance to FLE courses as they will favor the successful completion the program and community integration.  This being true for students of the general, dual degree and exchange program. 

A program adapted to the level of its students

The FLE courses are part of the CERCL (Cadre Européen Commun de Référence des Langues) and offers classes from A1 to C1 level.

These levels correspond to the acquisition and reinforcement of language and the culture thereof.

Each level is described in the charter (French and English) which defines its objectives and target expertise as well as detail the terms and conditions of evaluating and obtaining credits.
