The aim of the courses preparing for the DUEF (degree in French language) is not only to master the French language of everyday life but also to reach the level of French required to undertake studies in a French university. The pedagogy of the summer course (in July) encourages learners to improve fluency in speaking and writing. The small groups allow everyone to be active and to make progress. Teaching materials deal with current topics of society, civilization and culture. Conferences complete this program.

The Institut d’Etudes Françaises is located within the La Rochelle Business School (Groupe Sup de Co) and close to the town center. It specializes in teaching French as a Foreign Language for more than 80 years (it was created in 1931 by the La Rochelle Chamber of Commerce).
