Created in 1977, the International Language and Civilisation Centre (CILEC) is the school dedicated to the teaching of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) at the Jean Monnet University.

Nestling between lake and mountains in the beautiful town of Annecy, the CILFA welcomes adults of all levels to study French language and culture in groups of no more than 12 people.

An internationally minded university centre, the CLA has been accomplishing its service and engineering missions since 1958 in the complementary fields of education, training and research.

Since 1984, ELFE has been the school of reference for learning French in groups or private lessons.

Welcoming students from over 45 countries on its campus each year, this institution of higher education has developed an extremely dynamic and innovative French Language Center within the school’s international relations department.
