Stages of certification

The processes and procedures involved in the Qualité français langue étrangère certification scheme were developed by a scientific committee in the framework of continuous dialogue with the Advisory Council. They take into account both international standards and the context surrounding French language centres and have been validated by the Interministerial Certification Committee.

Centres

All centres, be they members of a professional group or independent, and regardless of their status (public, private or association-based), can voluntarily sign up to the Qualité français langue étrangère certification process.

They use the Qualité français langue étrangère certification to validate and promote the quality of their service offering.

Their missions

The Advisory Council

The Advisory Council supports the certification procedure, suggesting any modifications of tools, procedures and processes that might be deemed appropriate to the Interministerial Committee. The council meets as and when needed and at least once a year.

Its composition

Chaired by the Delegate General to the French Language and Languages of France, at the Ministry for Culture, the Advisory Council comprises the following:

Promotion of centres

Obtaining certification gives a centre a new form of visibility.

Once a centre has obtained certification, the CIEP sends an email to the town or city hall of the town or city in which the certified centre is located, as well as to regional and departmental councillors in France, tourist offices and local education authorities.

Promoting the certification

This page provides access to the various communication materials pertaining to the certification. Translations are available for the purposes of targeting international education officers and clients.

The certification brochure, which is aimed at professionals, education officers and centre directors, is available in both French and English. It is distributed at trade shows and printed as and when needed at the CIEP.
