All centres, be they members of a professional group or independent, and regardless of their status (public, private or association-based), can voluntarily sign up to the Qualité français langue étrangère certification process.

Member centres teach French as a foreign language with an intentional international focus and contribute to educational innovation in language teaching and student and professional mobility policy both in Europe and worldwide.
In addition to teaching French as a foreign language, which falls within the scope of the certification, centres may also offer classes in other modern languages and provide training for teachers of French as a foreign language, for example.
